Silambattam workshop
The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Nikesh, Master trainer with 15yrs of experience in Silambattam Art from Thimiryezhu Silambam Academy. Silambam is one of the traditional and ancient art forms of Tamilnadu. Silambam not only gives you strength but also improves the focus and confidence. The children eagerly participated, showing a keen interest in learning these traditional martial arts techniques.
Pongal celebration with the community 16th Jan 2024
Pongal celebrations at Inbavanam was a vibrant display of community spirit! The villagers were gathered at Inbavanam and pongal was cooked in the pot in their traditional way. People exchanged stories and honoured the harvest season. Silambattam was performed by Mr.Nikesh, trainer from Thimiryezhu Silambam Academy. His spectacular performance of fire silambam blew the minds of the audience. Children from Kandiyur amazed their fellow villagers with an impressive silambam display, skillfully learned in just three days, showcasing their quick learning and impressive performance skills. Folk song and dance of the Arunthathiyar community were performed with their unique traditional instruments.
The air was filled with laughter, music, and the sweet scent of pongal. Together, we expressed gratitude for the land's bounty and strengthened bonds of friendship and communal unity.
