Inbavanam recognizes the power of sports to unite communities and promote social well-being. We actively engage in community sports initiatives, striving to cultivate a 'sound body and a sound mind' through our programs. Our first annual Kabaddi tournament was a massive success, engaging youth from diverse localities across the Mettupalayam region. This event not only showcased the spirit of competition but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and social cohesion. We are committed to organizing events and tournaments that encourage participation and foster teamwork, providing equal opportunities for individuals of all ages and genders. By promoting sports, we aim to build stronger, healthier communities, fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose. We believe that sports not only enhance physical fitness but also instill valuable life skills, such as discipline, cooperation, and resilience, contributing to the holistic development of individuals and communities.
Specifically, the tournament saw participation from 13 men's teams, 6 women's teams in the open category, and 2 children's teams, with over 240 young people participating overall.
The Kabaddi tournament was successful in bringing together diverse communities, fostering a sense of unity. The winners were awarded with trophies and cash prizes.
The men’s tournament trophy was named the “Pragasam Trophy”. This denotes the light that will be emanated when sports is played and a disciplined life led. For the women’s category, the trophy was named “ME”, a special title designed to highlight the central role of women in sports and empower them to focus on themselves as champions. For the first time, the prize money for both men and women were the same. Both cash prizes and trophies were given to the first three teams in each category. A best player award was also given. The tournament was held on a mat.
